Description

“The Bride” is an element to remind us about who we are as a species and to never forget what unites us and what we need to LOVE to coexist as one for an infinite flow. It reminds us of our shared humanity and the need to embrace love as a unifying force for coexistence. It represents the importance of compassion and understanding towards one another for an infinite flow of unity.

“The Bride” is a symbol we can’t deny, Of our shared humanity, let love unify, coexist with compassion and understanding, And keep the infinite flow forever expanding.

The sculpture presented here embodies the form of a bride in her traditional white attire. The absence of color is a deliberate choice, as is the absence of any gender-specific features in the sculpted elements. Smooth contours have been intentionally carved to convey the notion of neutrality, devoid of any gender or racial associations. The external materials incorporated in the piece, such as the crystal applique and molded canvas, create a contrast between solidity and softness. This duality between materials prompts us to reflect on the inherent tension that exists between various forms of energy.

My art is an experimental journey, intended to explore the paradoxical emotions evoked by this work. Conventional thinking would have us perceive the bride as symbolizing purity, happiness, and the beginning of a new life. However, as we engage with this installation, we begin to uncover deeper meanings, including the notion of forced marriage, the subjugation of women, and the coercion of individuals to conform to societal norms. This sculpture serves as a testament to the struggles and hardships faced by future mothers, who are often burdened with the responsibility of bearing children and providing for them, all while being forced to live in miserable conditions and ignored as slaves to humanity.

In the words of Kahlil Gibran, “Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” This sculpture serves as a visual representation of the scars that many women carry, as they endure the challenges and pain of their lives. By exploring the complexities of the bride’s symbolism, this piece encourages us to confront our preconceptions and engage with the deeper meanings that lie beneath the surface.

“Sculpting the Paradox” is a series of sculptural installations that depict the contrast between different cultures and societies, the rich and poor, and the strong and weak. My intention is to convey that this paradox is what unites us, and only when we come together as a whole, regardless of our origins, aspirations, or desires in life, can we progress toward forward thinking and globalization. It is only through collective action that we can move forward toward a higher state of being, a state of divinity.
