As we bid farewell to this year and welcome the new, I am thrilled to share a remarkable discovery with my LinkedIn network. After years of navigating the media currents and the trend-driven commercial art scene in Miami, I am excited to announce that genuine, authentic art is not only present but thriving more vibrantly than ever.
This New Year, I extend a heartfelt invitation to art collectors: Venture beyond the conventional paths. I encourage you to visit the studios of our artists or to engage with our collective. We are eager to unveil the wonders that have been crafted away from the commercial spotlight – art that is pure, untouched, and untainted by commercial intentions.
Our collective’s ethos is straightforward: We believe in direct, sincere transactions that honor the sacred bond between artist and collector. It’s not about games or hidden agendas but about the love and appreciation for divine beauty that true art embodies.
The message of our artists is waiting to be discovered, and we promise an experience that transcends the ordinary. As we step into the New Year, let’s embrace the unexplored and celebrate the true essence of art.
As an experienced art enthusiast and artist, I am currently engaged in a thought-provoking exploration for my upcoming article. The subject at hand delves into the nuanced world of fine art, distinguishing between the authentic and the counterfeit. This investigation, part of my research for a new book, led me to a local international gallery Eden Gallery, where I employed a strategic approach. My method was two-fold: adherence to established protocols and a proactive, door-to-door strategy, grounded in the confidence of my own artistic appeal and its existing interest base. Art Collection “JAMILAT”, available at Marianne Nems Art (marianne@artrade.com) series 1/30 original artworks, medium: Oil on canvas, wood ornaments, gold leaf.
During this endeavor, I sought out the gallery manager, an individual with whom I share a neighborly acquaintance. My approach was persistent yet respectful, involving follow-ups through texts, calls, and even voicemails. This persistence was balanced delicately on the fine line of ethical and political boundaries, ensuring that my presence was assertive but not disruptive. My intention was never to cause trouble, but rather to make a statement strong enough to shake the established norms, yet tactful enough to avoid causing unnecessary conflict.
The core of my upcoming article revolves around the fundamental question: What distinguishes true fine art from its counterfeit counterpart? True fine art, I argue, is a testament to originality, creativity, and the evolution of ideas. It is the product of an artist’s unwavering dedication and their journey through personal and artistic growth. In contrast, fake fine art is easily identified by its repetitive nature and its primary focus on commercial gain, lacking in the depth and innovation that characterizes genuine artistry.
An essential part of my article will highlight the top galleries and museums that honor and respect artists who pour heart and soul into their work such as the Gary Nader Museum. These institutions are crucial in nurturing and showcasing true artistry. They stand as beacons for artists who continually evolve and offer fresh perspectives, thereby leading humanity toward a more enlightened and beautiful existence. Conversely, those venues that promote art driven by profit and redundancy will be critiqued for their contribution to the dilution of fine art’s essence.
The aim of my writing is not only to inform but also to inspire. It is a call to action for readers to recognize and appreciate the hard work and genuine creativity of true artists. These artists are not just creators of beauty; they are the visionaries who inspire and lead society. Through this article, I intend to guide art enthusiasts in discerning and supporting authentic artistry, thereby contributing to a richer, more culturally profound world. This is a journey of discovery, not just for myself as an author and critic, but for all who engage with the art world in its many facets. Here’s a little poem for you my dear readers,
As this year’s final blog takes its bow,
I extend a wish, heartfelt and profound,
To each of you, and us, a vow:
May days be graced with life’s sweet sound.
In nature’s embrace, find delight,
Each moment infused with pure essence bright.
With kindness and love, let hearts take flight,
A tapestry woven in gentle light.
I bow in reverence, with a soulful sight,
To the highest light, the celestial guide,
That watches over us, day and night,
Uniting us under the sky so wide.
Happy New Year
